3 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Mattituck-Cutchogue Junior/Senior High School.

The district proposes a $40,765,316 budget for 2017-18, a 1.07 percent increase from the current $40,333,921. The tax levy would rise by 0.02 percent, from $36,103,583 to $36,109,638.

This increase is within the district’s tax-cap limit of 1.32 percent, so a simple majority will be required to approve the budget.

School taxes on the average single-family home would increase by 0.06 percent, from $4,829 to $4,832.

The proposed budget includes a 1 percent increase for teachers who would have been on frozen steps and an average 2.1 percent incremental increase for the rest of the teachers.
