Faces of Sandy: Ashley Sorahan

advertisement | advertise on newsday

Ashley Sorahan's daughter, Lyla, was only 10 weeks old when Sandy flooded their Baldwin Harbor home and destroyed the nursery she and her husband, Stephen, had meticulously built and decorated that summer. When they returned to their home to assess the damage, Sorahan, 30, said she was able to save the small lavender chandelier that hung in her baby's room. Now, that the damage has been repaired, the family is back in their home and the chandelier is back where it belongs. Videojournalist: Tara Conry (Oct. 13, 2013)
