When you finish picking apples, visit the adjoining pumpkin patch, corn mazes, concession stand and play areas. Hank's is well known for growing gigantic pumpkins. It also has three corn mazes.
ALSO HAS Roasted corn ($3), snacks and fresh-baked pies; wagon rides.
With a patch that stretches for 8 acres, visitors can chose from anything from minis to prize-winner giants weighing more than 100 pounds and costing more than $65. "We're known for our giant pumpkins," says co-owner Lynne Kraszewski. How does one get such a monster pumpkin out of the field and into your car? "I've seen them turn the wagon on its side and roll the pumpkin onto it and flip it back up. Or, we give them a tarp and roll it onto it, and then they drag it out of the field," she says.
If you have any energy left after wrangling that pumpkin, you can pay one price ($10) to access their three corn mazes, rides, games and other activities (tube slide, peddle cart tracks, duck race, mechanical pig races, etc.). If you're feeling a little peckish after all that fun, a concession stand offers fresh-baked goodies.Hours: 9:30 a.m.- 6 p.m. Mon.-Fri. for wooden toy playground, the market and U-Pick pumpkins early Sept.- Oct. 31.
