'Collage' at Greenlawn gallery

Ripe Art Gallery is pleased to present “Collage” a collection of unique collages by Northport native and performance artist Louise Millmann.

Millmann begins her process with self portrait photographs that are scanned and digitally incorporated into mass-produced media gifted from other artists or found at flea markets and print shops. The original self-portrait raw prints were packed along with scissors and glue and taken on the road to be combined with found indigenous ephemera. Her collages have been created in temporary studios; (kitchen tables, park benches or hotel desks) in locals from Nicaragua to Paris.

“Collage” opened on Saturday to a huge response. This is becoming our best-received show yet with many sales of Millmann’s work.  “Collage” will be on display at Ripe Art Gallery until Oct. 10.

Ripe Art Gallery is at 67A Broadway, Greenlawn. We are open Tuesday through Thursday, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., Friday from 2 to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.  For more information, please visit www.ripeartgal.com, or call 631-239-1805.  Millmann’s Web site is: www.geocities.com/millmanncollage.
