Man held in Sept. 1 shooting
on Huntington Station street
Police arrested a Huntington Station man Thursday and charged him with shooting a man earlier this month.According to police, Luis Lemus, 20, of 82 Columbia St., was involved in a fight with two men on Columbia Street in Huntington Station on Tuesday, Sept. 1. After the altercation, Lemus got a handgun and went looking for the two men, according to police, who said he found one of the men in front of 1 Tower St., Huntington Station, and shot him. The victim, a 22-year-old man from Huntington Station man, was shot in the stomach and arm. He underwent surgery at Huntington Hospital and has been released. Lemus, who was charged with first-degree assault, will be held overnight at the Second Precinct and arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on Friday, police said.
