Weddings with a local connection

Tracie Holmberg and Matthew Cohen were married June 13 at Curé of Ars Church in Merrick, with a reception at the Bourne Mansion in Oakdale.

She is deputy chief of staff for Rep. Steve Israel in Hauppauge and is the daughter of Ted and Margaret Holmberg of Merrick.

The groom directs government relations for the Long Island Power Authority in Uniondale and is the son of Robert Cohen of Smithtown and Melissa Colton of Indialantic, Fla.

The bride and groom hold Florida Atlantic University and University of Pennsylvania bachelor’s degrees respectively. He’s studying law at Hofstra. They live in Melville.

 

Lauren Elizabeth Ramos and Howard Sonneborn III were married Sept. 5 at Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Church in Centerport. The reception was at the home of the bride and groom in Centerport.

She is the daughter of Frank and Lori Ramos of Centerport.

The bridegroom is a United States Navy chief in the Office of Naval Intelligence in Washington, D.C., and is the son of Howard Sonneborn Jr. of Lindenhurst and Margaret Hammer of Greenlawn.

The bride and groom both graduated from Harborfields High School.
