Woman accused of using pepper spray to skip $150 cab fare

A California woman was arrested Saturday after she shot pepper spray in the eyes of a taxi driver and left without paying the fare, police said.

Amina Williams, 22, of 5 Nimitz Ave., Redwood City, made a deal with cab driver Alexandre Oseimensuo of New Jersey for a ride from Manhattan to Melville for $150, but when she arrived, according to police, she offered Oseimensuo $80, according to police. When the driver insisted on the full $150, Williams  sprayed him with pepper spray and left, police said. A hotel employee who saw the attack called police, who arrested Williams as she was trying to rent a room at the hotel.

Williams was charged with third-degree assault and unlawful possession of noxious material. The driver was taken to North Shore University Hospital in Plainview, where he was treated and released.
