Word expected on Tilden Brakes

The town is expected to announce on Tuesday details of a public-private partnership for the demolition and redevelopment of the former Tilden Brakes site, described by the town as a long-time community eyesore. Town officials hope the Huntington Station project will transform a blighted property into a new mixed-use retail center to anchor the town’s forthcoming pedestrian plaza.

The site is at New York Avenue and Olive Street, and the initiative is being made possible by a $1.17 million grant from New York State.
