2 hurt in Melville accident

The Melville Fire Department and Suffolk Police responded to an accident in the northbound lanes of Route 110 south of Schwab Road, Saturday afternoon.  The drivers of the two vehicles involved, a Chevrolet Impala sedan and a GMC Safari van, suffered injuries and were taken to Huntington Hospital and North Shore Plainview Hospital by the Melville Rescue Squad.

Bank in Commack held up

The American Community Bank branch in Commack was robbed Friday afternoon.

Suffolk police say “a man entered the bank at 2:17 p.m. and handed the teller a note demanding cash and threatened violence if the teller did not comply.”

for marine vessel patrol operators

Mosaic at Huntington Atrium

The Huntington Atrium this week unveiled a 460-square-foot mosaic with a history-based theme that the building management said was the largest such mosaic “ever produced by a robot installed anywhere in the world.”
