Icy storm creates 'dangerous' commute

The National Weather Service on Wednesday warned Long Islanders that the latest winter storm -- a mix of snow, sleet and freezing rain -- was likely to make the morning commute "rather dangerous" for drivers. Snowfall estimates range from 2 to 4 inches for most of Long Island, and possibly higher along Nassau's North Shore, which could get as much as 6 inches. Newsday Staff (Feb. 5, 2014)
