A Levittown man is scheduled for arraignment Monday after his arrest in connection with a public lewdness allegation involving an 18-year-old woman in the hamlet, Nassau police said Sunday.

Lawrence Appel, 56, of Shotgun Lane, was arrested early Sunday and charged with public lewdness after Nassau police said he pulled down the front of his pants and exposed himself to the woman on Wednesday night.

According to detectives, the incident occurred shortly before 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at McLaren Field, 275 Loring Rd. Afterward, Appel fled on foot northbound on Loring Road. He was arrested Sunday at 12:30 a.m. at his home without incident, police said.

Appel was released on an appearance ticket and is scheduled to appear Monday in First District Court in Hempstead.
