The North Bellmore Fire Dept. was called to a report of house fire on Tonquin Street and Midvale Avenue at about 7:30 pm. Arriving units found the vacant house on fire. The fire was threatening houses on both sides of it, one of which was also vacant. North Bellmore firefighters used multiple hose lines and a tower ladder to put out the fire in about 30 minutes. There were no reported injuries and the cause of the fire is under investigation. Multiple surrounding departments helped North Bellmore fight the fire. (Dec. 25, 2010)

The homeowners escaped before firefighters arrived; the home was severly damaged. The North Amityville Fire Co. responded to a fire early Wednesday morning that engulfed two cars in a parking lot at the Frontier Trailer Park on Route 110. When firefighters arrived the sport utility vehicle, a Ford Expedition, was fully involved in flames, and the blaze had spread to a Lincoln Town Car parked next to it. One person was injured early Monday in a house fire at 70 Benburb St. in North Amityville. The blaze heavily damaged the second floor, but was contained there by firefighters from the North Amityville Fire Co. The fire about 1 a.m. was extinguished and under control in about 30 minutes although the rest of the house sustained smoke, water and heat damage. The injured occupant was taken to St. Joseph's Hospital in Bethpage with a cut on the arm. The East Farmingdale Fire Co. Amityville and North Lindenhurst Fire Departments assisted at the scene. Firefighters work to control flames in a home at Howe Road and Hawkins Path in Selden. The blaze early Monday destroyed the house. The Selden Fire Department was assisted at the scene by the fire departments from Coram, Terryville and Farmingville. No injuries were reported. The Brookhaven Town fire marshal and the Suffolk police arson squad are investigating. (Dec. 20, 2010)

Shortly before 2 a.m. Saturday, the Westbury fire department responds to a fire to Roosevelt Field mall, on Old Country Road in East Garden City. Firefighters found fire on the west side of the mall in a nail salon. The fire was held in check by the sprinkler system and completely extinguished by the fire department within 30 minutes. Carle Place, Hicksville, East Meadow, Jericho, and Roslyn fire departments assisted. No injuries were reported. (Dec. 11, 2010)

A fast-moving fire heavily damaged a house on Elm Drive North in Levittown just before 5 p.m. Thursday. The Wantagh Fire Department responded to the scene and found the house well involved. One occupant was taken to the hospital for smoke inhalation and at least one pet perished in the fire, but there were no other reported injuries. Wantagh was assisted at the scene by the Levittown and Bethpage fire departments. The cause of the fire is being investigated. (Dec. 9, 2010)

The Patchogue FD responded to the home on South Ocean Ave. off of Marvin St. around 11:00pm. They were assisted at the scene by the Blue Point FD as well as the Patchogue Volunteer Ambulance. An early morning fire extensively damaged a house on Doti Court in Greenlawn. The Greenlawn fire department responded to the fire shortly after midnight Wednesday, assisted by Commack, Dix Hills and Huntington Manor firefighters. About 75 firefighters using eight trucks brought the fire under control in an hour and 15 minutes. A woman escaped the fire before firefighters arrived. Several firefighters were treated at the scene for exhaustion and smoke inhalation. The Suffolk County Police Department Arson Squad and Town of Huntington fire marshal were investigating the fire. The Ridge fire department responds to a gas station fire Tuesday afternoon. The fire, which broke out about 12:15 in the Getty Gas Station at Middle Country Road and Raynor Road in Ridge, destroyed the building and several vehicles inside. One worker suffered minor injuries. The Ridge fire department was assisted at the scene by the Yaphank, Middle Island, Gordon Heights, Coram, Rocky Point, Miller Place and Mastic fire departments. The cause of the fire was being investigated by the Town of Brookhaven fire marshal and the Suffolk County Police Department Arson Squad. (Dec. 7, 2010)

Upon arrival of the fire department, fire was noticed coming from the clock tower located on the roof of the two story building. With assistance at the scene from the Stony Brook and Port Jefferson fire departments it took the departments approximately two hours to bring the blaze under control. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
