Centenarian: Ada Tonkelowitz
ADA TONKELOWITZ was born Oct. 14, 1909, in Brooklyn and moved to Wurtsboro, where she worked on the family farm and attended a one-room schoolhouse. She returned to Brooklyn at 18 to work as a comptometer operator. She met her husband, Sam, now deceased, and they had two children, Gloria and Martin. They moved to Syosset and were members of Midway Jewish Center. She knit scarves and hats for soldiers...
