Mae Miller was born Dec. 28, 1910, in Erie, Pa. At an early age Mae and her parents moved to Ridgewood, Queens. She married Bill Miller and had three children, Bill, Ginny and Steve, and lived in Huntington. Mae has six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She earned a bachelor's degree in biology from Barnard College. After raising her children she returned to school and received a teaching certification and master's in education from New Paltz University College. Mae taught second grade in the Commack school district for 16 years. She was married for 52 years before being widowed. She lives at Leisure Knoll in Ridge where she belongs to the women's singing group. She celebrated her birthday with family.
