Centenarian: Yetta Guy

Yetta Guy, born Sept. 6, 1913, in Manhattan's Lower East Side, is the second of five children born to Joseph and Jennie Stein. She grew up in Coney Island and remembers watching the boardwalk being built. She was in the first graduating class of Jamaica High School in Queens. She married Meyer Guy, an attorney (now deceased). They had one daughter, Diana, and lived in Brooklyn. Yetta worked as a court clerk in Brooklyn Criminal Court for 25 years. After retiring, she fulfilled her lifelong dream of going to college and earned a bachelor's degree from Pace College at age 66. She has two granddaughters. She lives at Atria Tanglewood in Lynbrook. She celebrated her birthday with her children and other relatives at her daughter's home in Huntington.
