Gifts for graduates

You can get creative when shopping for grads, says Dana Holmes, editor-in-chief at gifts.com, a website flush with gifting ideas. They even break it down based on your giftee's personality (geek, outdoor adventurer, trendanista and so on). Fill a laundry bag or wastebasket with inexpensive but essential housewares "for grads moving into their first place," says Holmes. Or introduce them to sound investing by ordering a small amount of stock with a framed certificate from a brand they love-- "Apple, Google or Starbuck's are all great choices," she suggests. Sounds way more interesting than . . . a pen, no? (Though we did find a jazzy pen, if you're kicking it old school.) Here's a selection of what's out there. -- Joseph V. Amodio
