Nassau County anniversaries, April 21
60thMARION AND WALTER PRIESTLEY of Farmingdale were wed Jan. 15, 1953, at Our Lady of Assumption Church in Pelham Bay, the Bronx. While Walter was working for the New York Police Department on a rooftop stakeout, he met Marion, a nurse who was also on the rooftop -- sunbathing with a girlfriend. Walter was a Navy rear gunner in the Pacific Theater during World War II, then he worked 40 years for the NYPD, retiring as a full inspector. Marion attended Flower-Fifth Avenue Nursing School and was valedictorian of her class. She worked for many years in local hospitals in the nursing field, then retired in her late 60s as a billing specialist for a pediatric office in Woodbury. They have five children and 10 grandchildren.
54thMARY AND JOSEPH
COLAVOLPE of Bethpage were wed April 18, 1959. Joseph retired from the Long Island Rail Road after 23 years because of an injury. Mary retired as a secretary for an eye doctor in Bethpage. Both donate their time to St. Martin of Tours Church and are extraordinary ministers of Holy Communion. They have two children (a third is deceased), and six grandchildren.
40thMAUREEN AND WILLIAM DEMICCO of Aquebogue were wed April 1, 1973, at Our Lady of Mercy Church in Hicksville. A family trip to Boston is planned. Bill is the assistant director of respiratory therapy at John T. Mather Memorial Hospital. Maureen works as a registered respiratory therapist at St. Charles Hospital and Peconic Bay Medical Center. The couple are active members of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Riverhead. They enjoy boating and dining at East End restaurants. They have two children and four grandchildren.
40thDOREEN AND ROGER NORTON of Miller Place were wed March 31, 1973. They celebrated with a trip to Bermuda. Both were born and raised in Brooklyn. Roger is a U.S. Navy veteran. Doreen is retired. They have one daughter and two grandchildren.
25thCATHY AND PATRICK
KILKENNY of Old Bethpage were wed Feb. 21, 1988, at St. Rose of Lima Church in Massapequa. They renewed their vows in a ceremony at Gurney's Inn in Montauk and celebrated with a trip to Las Vegas. Patrick works in construction, and Cathy is employed by the Syosset Central School District. They have three children.
