Everything But Water: A beachy retreat at Roosevelt Field
Whether you have a winter beach escape planned or just dream about one, Roosevelt Field in Garden City has a new store worth diving into.
On the upper level next to Fossil sits Everything But Water, an always sunny swim and resort wear boutique filled with everything from designer bikinis and jewelry for a luxurious Cannes retreat to flattering one-pieces, cover-ups and totes for a last-minute trip to Florida.
Fashion-forward designs from top names like Mara Hoffman, Trina Turk, Nanette Lepore, Natori, Laundry, Tommy Bahama and Carla Colletta make swimsuit shopping a glamorous experience, while plenty of other options are available for less than $100. Current trends such as black and white, bold patterns, metallics and mix and match bikinis are well represented, but the real focus is on fit.
“So many women look at swimwear shopping as being daunting, but it doesn’t have to be,” says Audrey Jimenez, director of stores. “It’s all about finding the right fit.”
Everything But Water trains specialists to find the perfect suit for every customer based on bust size, body features and style and color preferences. There are bikinis, tankinis and one-pieces to fit an A to E cup and a size 0 to 24. Plus-sized options can be found at everythingbutwater.com.
“Sometimes we suggest someone try on something they never would have picked, and they end up loving it,” Jimenez says.
In-store specialists will also pair suits with complementing tunics, day to night dresses, rompers and hats, all brought to you in your spacious and private fitting room. Beaded sandals, wedges, scarves, sunglasses and necklaces complete the look. Beachy bracelets start at $20 and pink and gold aviators are $24. Extras like cleaner and bra inserts are also for sale.
“We know that what you buy here is an investment,” Jimenez says. “You’ll leave with a bit of knowledge, too, about how to take care of your suit.”
The store chain, which developed a presence on Long Island last summer when it opened a seasonal shop in East Hampton, hosts its grand opening celebration Saturday for Roosevelt Field shoppers from 12 to 5 p.m. with cocktails, live music, a Letarte trunk show and, of course, fit sessions. Customers will receive a gift with purchase, but unfortunately plane tickets to tropical destinations are sold separately.
