Michael Wootton of Wainscott has been named 2012 Man of the Year by the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Long Island Chapter based on his "strong commitment" to the society and its mission of raising awareness and funds to find a cure for blood cancers. Wootton is a senior currency trader for Kammas Trading, where he trades precious metals and manages foreign currency risk. He also has served as vice president at the Bank of New York and traded and managed the bank's global over-the-counter currency option portfolio for seven years in New York and London.
