Rouven Essig of Stony Brook is one of 68 individuals nationwide to recently receive the Early Career Award from the U.S. Department of Energy based on his research in "particle physics at the cosmic, intensity and energy frontiers." Essig is an assistant professor at Stony Brook University's C.N. Yang Institute for Theoretical Physics and the Department of Physics and Astronomy. He received his doctorate from Rutgers University in 2008 and was also a postdoctoral research associate at the SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory in California.
