LINDENHURST - LIPA Chief Operating Officer Michael Hervey says 4,000 line workers are in virtually every community on Long Island working to restore power. Officials with LIPA say they'll be able to restore power to 90 percent of Long Island by Wednesday, except for Port Jefferson, Saint James and Brookville, some of the hardest hit areas. More than 300 LIPA staff are on hand in the Melville call center, and many of them are experiencing exactly what their callers are going through.Sandy Emergency Resources
