LEVITTOWN - LIPA officials say they will have 90 percent of customers back on the grid by Wednesday, but customers who have been in the dark for more than a week are skeptical. With a smaller but still formidable storm expected to hit the area on Wednesday, many residents say they're uncertain about LIPA's progress. LIPA claims on its website that it has restored electricity to more than 700,000 customers. More than 220,000 customers in Nassau and Suffolk remain in the dark as of 8:30 p.m. Monday.
