The Long Island Rail Road said it was operating on or close to schedule Monday after earlier delays on three branches because of signal trouble near the Mineola station and broken crossing gates near the Hicksville and Deer Park stations.

The commuter service said shortly before 10 a.m. that its trains were mostly on time.

The Ronkonkoma, Port Jefferson and Oyster Bay branches had delays of up to 30 minutes at one point during the morning rush hour, and there also were cancellations, the LIRR said.

The signal trouble near the Mineola station and trains operating at a reduced speed because of the broken gates caused congestion starting before 8 a.m., the LIRR said.
