Winds on the ocean off Long Island are expected to be about 10 knots Wednesday, with wave heights of 2 to 4 feet, the National Weather Service said.

North and east of the Island, there is a small-craft advisory in effect for coastal waters extending from Montauk to Martha's Vineyard. Waves in that area should run 3 to 5 feet and winds will be northwest at 10 to 15 knots, the weather service said.

On Long Island, it was expected to be a warm day, hitting a high of about 82 in the afternoon, the weather service said, but with low humidity.
