Just call it Lucky Lottery Lane, the stretch in Lindenhurst where big-prize winning tickets are the norm.
On Tuesday night, another lottery retailer in the South Shore village sold two tickets that cashed in on major jackpots.
Stationery Plus, at 76 W. Montauk Hwy., sold a Mega Millions ticket worth $1 million and a Take 5 ticket worth just less than $65,000, according to a New York Lottery spokeswoman.
That’s two tickets for jackpots on the same day.
So you might want to visit one or more of the eight stores that sell tickets in that stretch sometime on Wednesday. That’s because Wednesday’s Powerball jackpot is worth $500 million, and, hey, you never know.
The Mega Millions ticket sold by Stationery Plus missed by one number — the Mega ball of 13 — being worth $145 million. The Mega ticket matched the numbers 1, 4, 36, 48 and 57. One other ticket nationwide also matched the five numbers and missed the Mega ball; sold in Georgia, it also is worth $1 million.
The Take 5 ticket matched the five numbers 1, 3, 4, 19 and 31.
Since 2011, stores on Montauk Highway in Lindenhurst have sold several large winners, including a $201.9 million Powerball jackpot in June of that year by the Maulik & Chandni stationery store. A group of employees at the Melville Costco split that jackpot, and then nine months later, the same store, at 200 E. Montauk Hwy., sold a Mega Millions ticket worth $250,000.
In a 10-month span between 2011 and 2012, three retail lottery locations sold three tickets worth $1 million or more, including the Powerball jackpot.
The Stationery Plus store has developed its own reputation for winners recently.
On Oct. 15 of last year it sold two Take 5 tickets worth a little more than $15,000 each. In that drawing, four tickets across the state shared the game’s top prize.
In December 2012 it sold a Take 5 ticket worth about $85,000, and then about a month later, in January 2013, it sold another Take 5 ticket worth about $25,000.
