Men of OTBs sound off on mayor's plan
New Yorkers at an OTB on W.38th Street in Manhattan were asked how they felt about the possible closing of the establishment as well as the changes to the city.
"Tell the mayor to grow-up, he thinks only for himself. If his hobby is golf, do we all have to go golfing? Everyone has a different hobby." --Stephen Clemen, 59, Prospect Park
"They are just cleaning everything up according to how they want, not according to what people living here want. New York is less fun because we can't do anything anymore -- smoke, drink -- we have no liberties." --Willy Brake, 61, Corona
"If they shut OTB down it will be better for me, it'll save me money." --Alberto Escobar, 57, Bronx
"This should be a city where you can do what you want. A lot of people won't support the administration if they close this place. It makes me feel like I'm not in the right city anymore." --Robert Borkowski, 49, Midtown Manhattan
"It is hard to judge if shutting it down would be bad. They have OTBs all over the world." --Isidore Lemberger, 83, Bronx
