According to detectives, the 55-year-old man was walking when he was approached by one of the suspects at the corner of Broadway and Griffin Street in Freeport. The suspect distracted the 55-year-old victim as three other men approached from behind. The victim was punched in the face and fell to the ground, and the suspects went through his pants pockets and took his cellphone, a wallet containing personal papers and money. All four men fled the scene, police said.

Police later located Charles and Ventura in front of 15 Harding Place and arrested them around 2:40 a.m. They will be arraigned in First District Court on Monday.

The victim was taken to a hospital and treated for bleeding and a contusion to his nose, police said.
