Two of three men suspected of beating a man and taking his cellphone last month in Rockville Centre have been arrested on robbery charges, and a third suspect is still being sought, Nassau County police said Thursday.

First Squad detectives arrested Christopher Pilato, 25, of 3349 Murdock Ave., Oceanside, on robbery charges Wednesday; on Dec. 9, police arrested Thomas Scanlan, 17, of 67 First Ave., East Rockaway.

Each is charged with two counts of robbery, police said, after the three men beat a man, 22, and took his cash and cellphone on Dec. 7 outside a home on Shellbank Place, police said.

The victim went to the house just before 3 p.m. to meet "an acquaintance," police said. Two more men showed up in a gray Infiniti G37, and all three men punched the victim, then took his iPhone and cash, police said.

The cash was eventually recovered in the yard, police said.

The victim suffered minor injuries but declined medical attention at the scene, police said.

In their original release, police said the victim's acquaintance was about 17 and driving a white Infiniti G37.

Scanlan was arraigned Dec. 9 and is due back in court on Jan. 28, according to court records.

Pilato is scheduled to be arraigned Thursday at First District Court in Hempstead.

Anyone with information on the third suspect can call Crime Stoppers at 800-244-8477. All calls will be kept confidential.
