Officers from the Nassau County Police Department's Marine Bureau rescued two men after their boat flipped over in Oyster Bay Harbor Sunday afternoon, police said.
Police said they responded to a distress call to find the 16-foot catamaran overturned, and pulled two men, ages 18 and 31, out of the water. They were found off Moses Point in Centre Island about 4:15 p.m. and then placed on a police boat.
They were wearing flotation devices and submersion suits, and were brought to shore. Police reported no injuries and said because of high winds, ice conditions and rough seas, they could not secure the overturned vessel.
