2 teens arrested in thefts of 19 'artisan bongs'

Two teenagers were arrested over the weekend by Nassau police on charges they stole $10,000 worth of glass tobacco pipes in November.

The two 16-year-old males are accused of breaking the front window of Twisted Glass, 1898 Wantagh Ave., Wantagh, and removing 19 "artisan bongs" the night of Nov. 1, according to a Nassau police report. The tobacco pipes had a value of $10,000, according to police.

An investigation by Seventh Squad detectives led to the arrests of both minors, who face charges of third-degree burglary. One of the teens was arrested Saturday and the other Sunday, police said.
