A Roosevelt man and two teens were arrested in the beating and robbery of a man in Freeport Tuesday night, Nassau County police said.
An 18-year-old man in an apartment building lobby on Broadway told Freeport police that at 11:22 p.m. three men "beat him about the head and body," taking his iPhone, jacket, "two gold-colored necklaces" and wallet containing cash, police said.
Tracking the iPhone to an area near Randall Avenue and Harding Place, officers stopped three men in front of 203 N. Main St. -- Charles Nesbitt, 33, and Malcolm Nesbitt, 17, both of West Clinton Avenue, and Henry Elgin, 17, of Park Avenue, who were all arrested, police said. Police said the two Nesbitts are related, but could not say how.
Some of the items were recovered, police said, and the 18-year-old refused medical attention.
The three men are being charged with two counts of second-degree robbery and were arraigned Wednesday. Each was held pending bail, with Elgin's set at $40,000, Malcolm at $25,000 and Nesbitt at $40,000. With Ellen Yan
