3 sought in Hempstead street shooting

A man was shot in Hempstead early Sunday, Nassau police said.

The 23-year-old victim and a male cousin, 29, were walking on Washington Street near Seitz Avenue about 3:45 a.m. when three men approached them and an argument ensued, police said.

One member of the trio then drew a handgun and shot the 23-year-old victim in the left shoulder before fleeing with his companions, police said.

The victim was taken by private car to a hospital, where he was admitted in stable condition, police said.

The gunman was described as about 28 years old, 6 feet 2 inches tall, and wearing black clothing. Another suspect was described as between 20 and 26 years old, 5 feet 7 inches to 5 feet 8 inches tall, thin build and wearing black clothing. There was no description of the third man.
