5 dead, 2 hurt in Farmingdale accident, police say

Five teenagers died and two others were injured on May 10, 2014, in a two-vehicle crash on Conklin Street in Farmingdale after a car veered into oncoming traffic and collided with an SUV. The five killed were Tristan Reichle, 17; Jesse Romero, 18; Carly Lonnborg, 14; Noah Francis, 15; and Cody Talanian, 17. All were Farmingdale High School students or graduates. Cory Gloe, who was 17 at the time, of Farmingdale pleaded guilty on March 10, 2016, to causing the deaths while racing Reichle. In exchange, Gloe is expected to receive a six-month jail sentence.
