A long journey to graduation for Roslyn Heights woman
Valerie Orton graduated with honors from Westbury High School, and she'll graduate the same way from Queens College Thursday. In between, she raised four children - two born before she was out of high school - lost her fiancé in a shooting and sat vigil through the two trials of his killer. The journey took 18 years.
