A teen wanted in an assault and robbery last month of a man waiting for a ride outside the Sears in Hicksville surrendered to Nassau County police early Wednesday in Woodbury.

Angel M. Sanchez, 17, of 42 Libby Ave., Hicksville, was charged with second-degree robbery after his arrest at the Second Precinct. He faces arraignment Wednesday in First District Court, Hempstead.

Police said that Sanchez, accompanied by still unidentified male and female acquaintances, approached the 22-year-old male victim as he waited for a ride outside the Sears on Route 106/Route 107, North Broadway, in Hicksville at about 7:25 p.m. on July 30.

A brief argument soon turned into a physical altercation, police said, with Sanchez punching the victim -- before the male acquaintance joined Sanchez in throwing the victim to the ground. Both men then punched and stomped the victim, police said, while the female accomplice filmed the incident on her cellphone.

Sanchez then took the victim's cellphone, keys and a work knife before fleeing.

The victim was taken to a hospital for treatment.
