A Hempstead woman was arrested early Sunday after she drove her minivan down a Hempstead street while intoxicated with her toddler daughter in the van, Nassau County police said.

Police said Araceli Mondragon-Vargas, 27, was driving a Ford Windstar west on Fulton Road at 4:15 a.m. when Highway Patrol officers spotted her swerving out of her lane.

The officers pulled Mondragon-Vargas over and determined she was intoxicated, police said.

The woman's boyfriend and their daughter, 2, were also in the van, police said.

Mondragon-Vargas was arrested and charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated, a felony under Leandra's Law, endangering the welfare of a child, driving while intoxicated with a blood-alcohol content of above .08 percent, driving while intoxicated, failing to stay in single lane and unlicensed operator.

She was scheduled to be arraigned on Monday at First District Court in Hempstead.
