A Queens man was arrested Saturday on charges that he stabbed a man Thursday in a mall parking lot in Valley Stream, Nassau County police said.

Garth L. Blair, 31, of Rosedale, is charged with second-degree attempted murder, police said. He was arguing with a 23-year-old man in the parking lot of the Green Acres Mall around 5:48 p.m. when Blair pulled out a knife and stabbed the victim in his chest, back and legs, police said.

Blair left the scene, and the victim was taken to a hospital in critical but stable condition, police said.

Police said the victim was able to give them information about who stabbed him and a description of the suspect's vehicle.

Using that information, detectives with the Fourth Squad and the Nassau County Bureau of Special Operations went to an address on 192nd Street in Jamaica, Queens, and arrested Blair on Saturday.

Blair was charged with second-degree attempted murder. At his arraignment on Sunday at First District Court in Hempstead, Blair was ordered held on $300,000 bond or cash bail. He is due back in court on Wednesday.
