A man attempted to rob a bank in Valley Stream Monday afternoon, but left without any money, Nassau County Police said.

A suspect who police described as in his 20s and 5-foot-8-inches tall, entered the Chase Bank at 270 N. Central Ave. about 4:05 p.m. and gave a "demand note" to the teller, police said.

After "several seconds," police said, he left the bank empty-handed.

The man, who was wearing a black hooded shirt with white lettering and a black baseball cap, was last seen walking southbound on N. Central Avenue, police said.

No one was injured during the incident, police said, during which 11 bank employees and three customers were present.

Detectives are asking anyone with information to contact Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 800-244-TIPS. All callers will remain anonymous.
