Bayville bans bonfires, will impose fines
The bonfires that have long been staples of Fourth of July celebrations along Bayville's waterfront were banned Monday night at a special meeting of the village board.
The board voted 5-2 to end the annual tradition and only allow fires in barbecue grills, for firefighter training and as special effects during film shoots.
