Bike crashes nearby as traffic safety meeting starts
Just as a news conference on traffic safety was to begin nearby, a bicyclist careened into a moving vehicle in Bayport, sending gasps through the crowd of local activists, children and citizens, witnesses said Thursday.
"This is irony," said Noel Feustel, a leader of the Bayport Safety Committee sponsoring Thursday's event. "This was surreal."
