A call reporting the beaching was made to police about 1:08 p.m., a Nassau County police spokeswoman said. Of the 10 people on the boat, one was airlifted and one was taken by ambulance to hospitals for treatment of injuries, which “do not seem serious,” the spokeswoman said.

Nassau County police as well as the Town of Hempstead Bay Constables responded, the police spokeswoman said. A woman who answered the phone at the constables’ office Saturday afternoon said no one was available to provide further information.
