Calverton National Cemetery to add 33,000 grave sites
Its tree-lined lawns become the final resting place for 6,600 more veterans each year - so many that Calverton National Cemetery is being forced to expand.
The cemetery, which opened 31 years ago after a military burial ground at Pinelawn began nearing its capacity, will add another 33,000 grave sites as part of a $32-million development that is expected to be completed in two years.
