Potential auto buyers flooded Long Island car dealerships again Sunday, hoping to cash in on a government rebate program for new vehicles before the money runs out.
The big crowds -- drawn by the federal Car Allowance Rebate System, better known as Cash for Clunkers -- gave local car dealers a badly needed jolt during a period of slow sales blamed on the recession.
