Children help parents escape Cedarhurst house fire
Two years ago, when she turned 12, Elizabeth Brower of Cedarhurst joined the junior firefighters program run by the Hewlett Fire Department, where her father is a volunteer.
When her brother William turned 12 a few months ago, he joined the club, too, and like his big sister learned to cover his face in a fire and crawl to avoid being overcome by smoke.
Their training paid off early...
