Cops: 3 suspects sought in East Meadow machete robbery

Police are searching for three men, one of them wielding a machete, who robbed a 54-year-old man as he returned to his home late Thursday in East Meadow.

The victim, whose identity was not released, suffered a cut finger during a struggle with the three attackers, who Nassau County police said all wore dark clothing and hooded sweatshirts pulled over their faces.

The robbery occurred on Carol Road at 11:35 p.m.

Police said the trio took an undisclosed amount of cash.

Police said that as the man returned home, the three assailants approached him -- the robber holding the machete demanding cash from the victim.

After the struggle, the trio fled on foot, police said.
