An East Northport construction company owner who was a victim of a massive Ponzi scheme was arrested Wednesday and charged with forging a $48,000 check, which he used to pay his employees, Nassau police said.

John P. Scherillo, 36, "funded his payroll with a forged check from the New York Racing Association in the amount of $48,232," a police news release said.
