Cops: Armed robbery at Franklin Square CVS

Two men, one armed with a handgun, robbed a CVS store in Franklin Square early Sunday morning, Nassau County police said.

Two employees, a 30-year-old man and a 32-year-old woman, were working at the CVS at 640 Franklin Ave. when two masked men entered the store shortly after 2 a.m., police said.

One of the men displayed a handgun and demanded that the male employee give him property, while the second man demanded that the female employee open the register, police said. The male employee gave the robbers a cellphone and cash, while the second robber grabbed cash from the register.

Both men then ran from the store, headed west, police said.

The two employees and one customer who had been in the store were not injured, police said.

The first robber was described as wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt, dark jeans and a mask that covered part of his face, while the second was wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt, dark sweatpants with a white stripe on the leg and a dark mask covering part of his face.
