A Baldwin man was arrested Thursday morning after police said he forged prescriptions for Vicodin on two occasions.
Nassau police said Hamid Babar, 48, of Ocean Avenue twice presented a prescription for Vicodin that was written, presented to the pharmacist and filled without the permission of the owner of the prescription pad. On July 27, 2013, police said, Babar went to the Rockville Centre Pharmacy in Rockville Centre to get a forged prescription filled and on Nov. 4, 2013, he went to the West Hempstead Pharmacy in West Hempstead.
Babar is charged with two counts of second-degree possession of a forged instrument and was arraigned at First District Court in Hempstead on Thursday. He was arrested at County Court in Mineola on Thursday while appearing on an unrelated charge, police said.
