A 21-year-old supermarket cashier was arrested after she used a manager's void code to steal more than $47,000 during a seven-month period, police said.

Falone Volcy, of 144 New York Ave., Westbury, was arrested Thursday night at the Super Associated Supermarket on Old Country Road in New Cassel, Nassau County police said. She was charged with third-degree grand larceny, first-degree identity theft and first-degree falsifying of business records.

At her arraignment Friday in First District Court in Hempstead, Volcy was ordered held on $5,000 cash bail or bond.

Police said that between April and the time of her arrest Volcy, using a manager's void code used to void purchases, managed to steal more than $47,000 from her register.

The thefts were discovered during an internal investigation by Associated, police said.

Police did not say on how many occasions Volcy is alleged to have stolen money -- or how many voided transactions were involved.

It also was not immediately clear how long Volcy had worked at the store.
