John Rogan, 85, and his wife, Marian, 86, went out for a ride Thursday night in their red 2006 Honda CRV and haven't returned home.

Now, police are searching for them - worried something might have happened to the couple. The pair was seen at 6:08 p.m. leaving the Bristal Assisted Living Center on County Line Road in Massapequa and were expected to be home by 9 p.m., Richard Youngberg, the facility's executive director, said in a statement Friday.

"[They] signed out, as they often do, to go out for the evening in their own car," he said. "When they did not return, Bristal staff notified the Nassau County Police."

The last reported sighting of the couple was at 1:44 a.m. Friday in Quogue when police there pulled them over for crossing a double yellow lane, Quogue police Lt. Chris Isola said. Marian was driving. Police had not yet received the notice that they were missing.

"The officer's report indicates that they both seemed fine," he said. "They were heading east searching for a hotel."
